    BEFORE
    Smak was formed at Lauttasaari Elementary school 2001. At the time Kalle, Lucas, Henri and Markku were 12 years old.
    February 2002 Smak took part in Aani & Vimma Junior (Sound & Fury) -competition, winning the first place. As a prize, the band got to perform at culture arena Gloria in the finals of Sound & Fury and their first demo "Tata totuutta" was recorded.
    2003 Smak released their second demo, which included a song titled "Myrsky" that was later released as their first single.
    2004 Smak made it to the finals of Sound & Fury. Soon after they were contacted by Teja Kotilainen, and at May 2004 the band signed a deal with Break A Leg Entertainment.

    AFTER
    The first single, "Myrsky", was released July 2004. Another single "Hallanvaara" was also released during the year 2004.
    The debut album Sic Transit was released December 2004, and has now sold over 10 000 copies. Also a DVD titled Gloria Mundi was released 2005.
    "Teen Mita Teen", the first single from Smak's second album Elohopeaa, reached the top of the single charts. Smak signed to Warner Music during their second album. Smak also performed a song for radio Yle X's summer campaign, titled "Antaa alaa Vaan."

    NOW
    Three years after releasing their second album, a whole new band takes the stage. After preparing their third album for two years, Smak came to a point where it felt natural to switch the language.
    - We've always wanted to write the lyrics in English. At the age of 14 our linguistic abilities just weren't good enough. We've always wanted to make everything by ourselves so before this album we just weren't ready for it, the vocalist Kalle Lindroth adds up.

    The fresh new single "Heartbreaker" arose straight to the peak of the radio charts. The new album will be released August, 2009.
